Basics

Princeton Review offers a variety of LSAT test prep courses, including a free LSAT practice test online.  The Princeton Review courses offer everything from private one-on-one tutoring to self-paced study.  The courses teach everything the Princeton Review program has gathered over its 35 year existence.  One of the unique features of the Princeton Review program includes the ability to utilize the virtual classroom experience.  This means, certain packages allow students to interact with their teachers and other students in real time from the comfort of their own home.

    I took a 6 week LSAT prep course in September, 2022 which ended just in time for the November LSAT. I would recommend the Princeton review to anyone planning on taking the LSAT. I would not have been able to receive the score I did without my tutor.

    I got the Princeton Review Self-Paced course at a discount through my university. It includes a series of videos and four books. I did not use the live lessons or add-on private tutoring that was offered. I did not find the videos particularly engaging and, after a time, instead went directly to the books that were physically mailed to me as part of the course. I found these to be far more what I wanted to use from the package and the fact that they were physical was a big benefit to me so I could easily mark them up.The books consist of a series of strategies and tips to tackle the various types of questions present on the LSAT. It then presents practice questions and, more importantly, self reflection portions. I found the self reflection sections to be very helpful, particularly when I got frustrated during study. While the tips and strategies are effectively beefed up versions of many standardized test question strategies, the self reflection portions are very effective at making you think about how you approach the questions you struggle with, which is where a lot of the issues I had were found and managed on the real LSAT.

Your personal statement is just that, a way for the person reviewing your application to see you personally, approach it that way.

    I took the Princeton Review LSAT Digital Fundamentals 30 hour online course in November of 2020 and again in April 2021. I used the satisfaction guarantee program in order to take the course again at no cost. I truthfully can say my second attempt at the course was a better experience than the first. I preferred my instructor in the second course as he taught many of the tips and tricks of getting a better score on the LSAT (unlike the first instructor who was so by the book we could have taught ourselves). I felt like the second course/instructor was more qualified and attentive to individual student needs and questions. I took this course on-line during COVID, but it would have been better to take in person to have that time to ask questions and review work with the instructor in person. Overall, I truthfully believe the Princeton Review course did help raise my LSAT score and played a vital role in securing a seat at a law school.

    • What law school application advice do you have for prospective students?: My advice for prospective students for law school applications is to truly sell yourself. I advise to convince the law school admissions board/committee that you would make an asset to their school. I believe it is smart to discuss your success, over-comings, and truthfully show your merit to the schools. It helps to have a strong resume with community service and good recommendations. Focus hard on your personal statement and the message you want to convey (have current lawyers read it over). If given the chance for an addendum, take it. (It can be an extra essay used in order to convince the admissions committee to accept you).

    This provided a good overview of the test, especially logic games, but I found myself still struggling to understand how to decode LR and eventually used other prep materials to bolster my understanding of that section. I'd recommend it as the first thing you read or engage with to give you a sense of how to approach the test, but I definitely would not suggest only exclusively Princeton Review materials.

    I prepped using Princeton Review's Ultimate LiveOnline. I had an excellent instructor—she made the concepts approachable, knew her stuff, and did her best to teach to the various learning speeds amongst the cohort. I liked that my course was fast-paced: it was compressed, only 1.5 months. This meant that the LSAT was only a prominent part of my life for a short time, and I went into the test at the absolute top of my game. I also felt that the course incorporated a satisfactory amount of practice tests.

    I took the Princeton Review LSAT 165+ course and found it incredibly helpful! Having an assigned schedule of homework and practice tests helped keep me accountable and formulate a study routine. I saw a significant increase from my first diagnostic score to my actual score. I took the class once and the LSAT once and was done. Definitely learned a lot of invaluable strategies in the course, and would recommend the class (especially with Jake) to anyone!

Just email them and ask to schedule a call - it can be a great way to learn more about the school and it can't hurt for your name to already be a bit familiar when they see your application.

    I took the self-paced course. With the LSAT being completely virtual now, Princeton Review did not properly prepare me for the test. All of the practices were pencil and paper, so I was unprepared for the tablet version. The practice tests also did not include the experimental section, so I was not conditioned to the length of the test.

    It was helpful, if nothing else to provide a structured practice plan. Too many students in the chat asked very specific questions and the answers were only helpful to their personal dilemmas (i.e. arguing an answer). This wasted a lot of time. I think the instructor could have indulged less.

    I was enrolled in this Princeton Review's Fundamentals course in order to prep for the LSAT. The instructor was wonderful. She fully explained everything to my classmates and I and also answered any questions we had. She also made sure to engage us throughout the duration of class meetings in order to ensure that we understood the material. Thanks to this course, I got my desired LSAT score.

    The Princeton review prep course has a wide-range of tips and skills to work on enhancing your critical thinking skills, writing skills, and analyzing situations in a quick-paced matter. This study pack has different set of practice test to work on specific sections of what would be on the LSAT. I also enjoy the reviews and scenarios it gives you to see different situations play out and the response you would need for that scenario. I have excelled in my critical thinking skills, my reading/writing comprehension, and my analyzation skills.

    The Princeton Review Course is an amazing program and well worth the expense. I have many resources at my disposal and the live classes are awesome. The information is presented visually, auditorialy, and kinesthetically. You will read it, write it, hear it, and review it through live classes, 24-hour resources, prepatory simulated tests, online slides, videos, assigned homework and so much more. If your score is not improved by taking this course and adhereing to all of its requirements then they will refund your money. Bottom line your score will improve.

    I took the LSAT165+ Liveonline course. My instructor was great, I liked the content, and the addition of the online law hub subscription was amazing. My only qualm was the following - it was not disclosed when I registered for the class that I was registering for a crash course. It was under the same name as the other 165+ courses, and nothing seemed different. I picked the time according to my work schedule but, if I had realized it was a "crash course", I would have chosen another time. First class, the teacher told us that our guarantee (to get a 165+) may not be honored because we chose to take the crash course. What this essentially meant was that a course that is normally X time in length was compressed within a much more intense timeframe. This suited me fine, I still scored very well, but I think I would have done better in another class. Bear in mind that, if you take the demanding crash course timeframe, there will be LOTS of homework in a very short amount of time. And if you do not complete all of the homework, your guarantee is in jeopardy. Otherwise, I enjoyed the class and the teacher. I found it very helpful. I liked their approach to the sections. However, had I known I was signing up for a "crash course," I would have changed to another class.

    I opted for the self-paced online course and I don't regret it. At first, the thought of studying for the LSAT online and without any guidance from an-in person instructor seemed a bit daunting. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to properly learn and retain all that I would need to through a self-paced online program. For a lack of better words, I was wrong. The videos provided are very thorough and a godsend when it comes to understanding the logic games. They also have multiple practice tests available and the flexibility of the program is also another plus in my book.

    Reading and course work was excellent and well organized. I had always struggled with the logic games section of the LSAT, I feel this course helped a lot. I also feel that the instructor could have done a lot more to help the students. He was often vague in his explanations to problems which made the learning process somewhat difficult. Overall a great way to prep for the LSAT.

Speed is tremendously important in the LSAT. Being able to find inferences quickly will go a long way. But it's important not to stress about time when first beginning to studying for the LSAT. Get the fundamentals down first, then improve speed.

    I personally did not like my course, the guy that directed my course went through the class fast. i enjoyed the books a lot though. They were much better at explaining what i was looking for and how i needed to think in order to get the questions right and it helped improve my score 5 points.

    I learned a lot through this course, mainly on tricks to read the passages quicker and locate the relevant information. I found their method for the games, to be more difficult to me and did not follow those lessons and did review on my own when the teacher got to the games.

    The course was well-organized, clear and well-placed. However, taking the prep class did not improve my score. My score actually dropped by 3 points aftering taking the course. My initial higher score was a result of self-studying. I took the course hoping it would improve my score but it did not. I spoke with other students in the class and they also mentioned their scores dropped by 2 or 3 points. If you want to improve your score, I would recommend trying other prep courses to see which work for you.

    The course was well-organized, easy to follow, and produced results. I improved my score (comparing diagnostic to LSAT score) by about 10 points. The instructor was helpful and competent. He made time for one-on-one questions, responded promptly, and seemed to care about my results.

    I decided to take the Princeton Ultimate live Online Prep class because I felt that I would not be able to get the score I needed by myself. I really think that this helped tremendously with my score especially because the types of classes were live class that I would join 4 times a week. I think this course if definitely worth the price!

    I thought the prep course was great. I did the self guided course where I had access to online sources and tons of physical practice books. I followed the set up where you take full length practice tests at the beginning and throughout your studying and that really helped me. Overall, I would definitely recommend this!

    The materials we received were pretty helpful and it seemed like there was no shortage of materials if you wanted more. My only complaint was our instructor. He was clearly “qualified” having done well in the LSAT before but he heavily favored some students over others and went to them with a majority of the questions which ends up not helping those who need it the most.

    I took an in-person course that met for about four months. The course and instructor were extremely helpful and boosted my score more than I ever could have on my own. After the course, I reached my target LSAT score that has allowed me to attend my top-choice law school.

    I thought the course was great! Gail, even though online, was energetic, personable, and helpful. She made everything easy to understand and helped each individual find the strategy that worked best for them. My score went up significantly. My only complaint is that there is a scarcity of in-person options available.

Taking the LSAT 3 times will not really increase your score by that much -- probably stick with two times tops.

    I used this LSAT course and found it very effective. I think my raw score went up by about 15 points. Of course, studying by myself probably would have produced similar results, but I would not have been motivated to study without an appointment that I had to go to and homework I had to do. I did the course while working full time and taking college classes and found it manageable.

    The course was well administered and the tutor was accessible, but I feel that the instruction was, at parts, lacking. I ultimately retook the test after self-studying and saw a significant boost; in particular, I don't think that TPR's strategy for attacking the logic games is the most efficient, and I didn't find all their explanations for logical reasoning questions to be clear.

    I started out using The Princeton Review 27th edtion, and while I am studying to take the LSAT and receive the top score using this review, I have found it easier to use than some others that I have used. I have chosen this one as the best one thusfar because it has provided me the opportunity to have access to 3 full length offical LSATs, other study guides have only provided two lsats at the maxium.

    I took the online version in which the classes were already structured around sample questions and practice problems that they gave you. The class was helpful in a sense that you got a lot of practice and had the opportunity to ask questions when you didn't understand. However, it was difficult in a sense that you didn't get to tailor it to what you actually needed. A lot of the focus was based on questions/ sections that I didn't particularly struggle with so overall it was nice for practicing but not necessarily for the actual learning and strategy aspect.

    I did the self-paced course and found it super helpful for honing my logic games skills in particular. There is no better way to improve than by taking practice exams and checking your answers, which is something this package provides wonderfully. I liked that I could make my own schedule around work—I could go to my favorite cafe on weekends or evenings and spend time really taking in the material.

    I did the self-paced online course in 2014. I really appreciated being able to choose the time/days that worked with my schedule, ability to re-do lessons, and tips for the logic games parts. I was also able to select lessons for my weaker areas rather than having to sit in a class that focused on the full test.

    I took the Princeton Review Ultimate in-person in 2011. My instructor was decent, but honestly I should have taken the online class instead so that I could rewatch the lessons. Given how much practice material they give you, I still think the course is worth the price.

    I took the Princeton Review Ultimate in-person class two times. I appreciated that the class had a guarantee component so that when I was unsatisfied with my first score, I was able to re-take the class for free. However, by taking the class twice, I saw that there was a large disparity in quality of teaching from one instructor to the next. My first instructor was excellent and really challenged me to master the material, but the second wasn't quite as good as adjusting her teaching to students who had vastly different score goals.Overall, if you're able to get a good instructor, the class is certainly worth the price.

    • What law school application advice do you have for prospective students?: Make sure you spend time thinking deeply about your law school personal statement! It's the only time in your application that you're able to convey your personality and writing skills to the admissions committee, so it definitely shouldn't be overlooked.
