About Blueprint LSAT Prep

Blueprint LSAT was founded in 2005 with a mission to create LSAT materials engaging enough that students would want to study, and to create a company for which they would want to work.  Students who enroll in the Blueprint LSAT programs average an 11 point increase on their LSAT exam.  Blueprint LSAT is the largest LSAT boutique which gives them the best of both worlds.  Blueprint LSAT has the resources that smaller companies do not, which allows them to continuously develop better teaching methods and customized learning software.  However, unlike other big companies, Blueprint LSAT solely focuses on the LSAT exam, so their time is not also spent on developing materials for other exams such as the GRE or MCAT.  All learning materials are developed in-house, utilizing the specialized LSAT test taking techniques of Blueprint instructors.

 

Basics

    My score improved significantly after I started using Blueprint. The videos and exercises were helpful and engaging. As someone who struggles to stay on schedule, it was nice to have all of my lessons and practice tests scheduled out for me.

    I enjoyed Blueprint but didn't find it worth the cost. The course was fast paced and I don't believe I was able to get a deep enough understanding of the material while staying on track with the course. I wish I had a good understanding on my own beforehand to be able to benefit. I would recommend this to students who are looking to improve their scores once they have a strong baseline.

    I took Blueprint's Live Online Instructor course to prepare for the LSAT in Fall 2020. Courtney was my instructor and did an amazing job going over the material, giving test taking tips, and answering plainly our questions. The TA was also very helpful and both were responsive via email. I took the LSAT twice and found the on demand resources (online and physical) to be critical to my success the second time--given the amount of time between exams, I had worried I would forget or "be out of shape" for taking the 2nd test almost three months later. My score improved by 10 points.

Regardless of how long you have been out of school, definitely check to see if your undergrad offers you any resources to assist with the law school application process.

    I absolutely loved this course and everything they had to offer. I had amazing teachers who made me want to come to class once a week. They also had office hours for things I needed more help on. I also loved how easy it was to use. It was mostly videos and practice tests, which made it easy to understand. I also loved the calendar set up where I could mix around what I wanted to study what days. It made it super easy to stay on track. I was able to raise my LSAT score by 8 points! Thanks, guys!

    Blueprint's books contain offensive, sexist, and racist caricatures of women and people of color. I pointed this out to them and apologized that their humor was outdated, and said that these books were printed a decade ago. I asked them why they had stood by their offensive materials for ten years and they offered me a refund, which I took.

    Loved Blueprint. They try to make LSAT prep "fun" and explain things in the simplest way possible. You don't have to read a thick textbook to get to the bottom line.

    I took a live remote class and found it engaging. My teacher was friendly and and clear with his examples and strategies. The online tools were extremely helpful in tracking my progress and pinpointing growth areas for me, as well as in setting attainable but challenging goals. My score went up 13 points from my diagnostic to my test.

    The videos were very helpful. I did think that the overall structure should have started at a more granular level. I thought the structure took too much of a "big picture" approach in how to understand the actual structure of the questions.

    Flexible course with really excellent instruction and plenty of practice problems! They do a great job of breaking things down and explaining concepts in multiple ways. The logic games section was especially helpful, and I liked how I could work through the course at my own pace on my own time. I saw my score improve And would definitely recommend blueprint to a friend.

    I took the in-person course and found it very helpful. My instructor was very helpful with any questions I had after class as well as on days we didn't have class. I found the online homework and practice tests did help me understand where I was making mistakes. I would recommend this prep course.

    The workbooks and site are simple and thorough. Blueprint gives you so many practice questions and exams to do in class and also at home that you will not run out of material. I did homework and practice exams religiously and went up over 10 points from the first practice exam to my real score.

    I took the Blueprint online anytime course on and off for about 4 years. Eventually, I took a mini online summer course that included an instructor. I loved the videos and cartoon characters used to make the learning more fun. I found the chain of being to be motivating however I expected a much higher score base on completing the chain. All in all, I was able to be accepted into law school.

    I liked the curriculum, but my instructor was not the best. He seemed to be new and not experienced enough to be teaching an LSAT prep course. He seemed to be learning the material as well were. He was extremely smart which was helpful. The curriculum was good, the methods helpful, LSAT is all about practice. It works as much as the work you put into it.

    I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Blueprint. I think the instructors are engaging and the organization of the material helps you to learn the premises of the LSAT. There is an extensive library online of resources to continue your learning outside the classroom.

    Blueprint feels as if it has been created for those who are already placing at 150 and above. If you have a low scoring diagnosis, I would recommend not spending the money on the in-person course until you become more familiar with the LSAT process building blocks. I made the mistake of entering into Blueprint without even looking over the LSAT, my mistake. The glass in Lower East Side, Manhattan, was not an introduction to the LSAT. The online program and accessibility of questions for practice is really the only aspect, in my opinion, that the program has.I would recommend a prove tutor until one is scoring higher and then move into Blueprint (if you even want to use it)!

    I did the tutoring and the online courses through Blueprint. Overall both resources helped me. However, my tutor did not agree with all the teaching methods that Blueprint used, so—for example—sometimes I learned how to do a logic game one way in the video sessions and then my tutor would teach me a different way. While it seemed like a waste of time to learn two different ways to learn something, I will say my tutor taught me the most effective strategies and I ended up using his. Overall, I say the tutoring helped the most. The online courses were good in making me get on a schedule to study.

    Although I did not purchase the full program, I participated in the 7-day free trial since I was about two weeks away from my taking my LSAT, I thought this prep course was amazing! I know it is pricey per month, however, it offers a lot of great material. The videos were easy to understand and exciting to watch. I liked how they had real people sitting in front of the camera taking to you. It just made it easier to understand for me. I also liked how many practice exams they offered. They had so many for you to do. I really recommend this program!

    I recently took a live LSAT prep course with blueprint and despite the fact I learned some neat tricks, I feel your time could be better spent. Instead of spending six hours sitting in a classroom for a few weeks, you can easily get through a self-study book from very reputable companies such as powerscore. There are so many free and cheaper resources out there that are just really effective as well. At the end of the day, you need to put in the hours on your own.

    This course actually made the process enjoyable. The program created different categories to determine what you're good at and what you aren't good at so you can spend your time in the most productive way. It also gives access to dozens of past exams which is the best way to improve your scores. On top of all that the videos are geared toward young adults and the humor in them helps make the whole process bearable. It recognizes that LSAT prep is a slog and makes it a little less painful.

"Being a lawyer sounds cool" isn't going to make you stand out among the rest. Even if you dont know specifically what you want to practice, you probably have had experiences in life that pointed you toward the law, doing justice, etc. That's the stuff that makes you you and that's how you'll stand out or at least look genuine which is something a lot of other applicants may fail to do. Then bust you ass taking LSAT practice tests.

    Only a 7 point increase, but working and going to class and having a life is a tough balance. I was happy with the instruction. Personally, could never get those last 4-5 on LRs consistently right - only qualm about the program

    If it works, it works! Blueprint honestly got my score up 11 points, so I can't complain. I did the in-person class, and part of it was definitely the act of taking the train and organizing myself to be in a space at a given time several days a week, but they definitely do a good job of teaching the material.

    Excellent program. The online platform is brilliant and allowed me to target issues I was having with timing and certain types of questions. The instruction was equally impressive. I took an in-person class in New York, which was great, but felt I needed more practice before taking the actual exam so proceeded with a combination of online prep and tutor prep. My in-class instructor was also a Blueprint tutor, so the transition was seamless. It's the only LSAT prep service I recommend when asked!

Make 1L all about doing the very best you can in your classes--there's time in 2L (and I assume 3L) to be more social, choose classes you really enjoy, and have a bit more of a life.

    The Blueprint LSAT course was very good, overall. They have so many resources available to students online, and I regret that I did not fully take advantage of them. Nonetheless, the Blueprint in-person course prepared me tremendously for the LSAT and helped me increase my score by 11 points.The tips and tricks they give you for the logic games and logical reasoning sections are tremendous and really break all of the questions down to a science. I felt that the reading comprehension (which was my weakest section from start to finish) curriculum could have been better at times, occasionally being "abandoned" because it is the least sexy section of the exam. This was my only complaint with the course. However, my reading comprehension scores did also improve from taking the course, and you learn to incorporate skills from the other sections into your reading comprehension section.Ultimately, the Blueprint course was well worth it, and you will ultimately get out of it, what you put into it. There are dozens of practice exams to take online and thousands upon thousands of questions to practice. I scored a 150 first time I ever took the LSAT, and after taking the Blueprint course, I had scored as high as 169 on practice exams before officially scoring a 161 on my LSAT. I was not thrilled with my score, given that I clearly had potential for more, but the key is that the potential was there because of the Blueprint course.Hope this helps! Best of luck!

Highly encourage that you take visits to see what the schools are like. If you do know where you want to go, or have it down to a couple of options, just go with those and feel comfortable about it.     Blueprint has a lot of good tips for every section that really help make the test seem more manageable. The homework can be a lot at times, but ultimately the vast amount of practice problems and tests are the best preparation. I definitely saw an improvement from my diagnostic score.

    Such an amazing course! They break down the material into easily digestible lessons. I felt extremely prepared using them for my second test. I can not recommend highly enough.     I found the online portal helpful and intuitive. It requires absolute discipline to work through the content since you are kind of your own instructor, but I found that the curriculum resulted in a roughly 12 point increase as the company said would happen. It's also cheaper than in-person instruction.

    I found the schedules very helpful to follow but felt they anticipated less work than I could and should have been accomplishing each week. The real problems from past LSATs were also great. I found the program most helpful for improving my timing on logic games. The reading support was less helpful.

    I did the in class Blue Print class. I think having the in class obligation creates a sense of accountability. It also allowed for a change of pace because the class was only twice a week, I could mix up the in class preparation with my own personal studying at home. It is also nice to be able to ask someone else questions instead of just reading the explanation online.

    Overall, I thought BluePrint was a solid course. I had the chance to take the live course with jay Donnell, who is known nationally to be one of the best instructors the program has to offer. Even though BluePrint had various structures in terms of how they wanted their students to attack Logical Reasoning, Logic Games, and Reading Comprehension, Jay realized that all students had different learning styles. Hence, he helped me immensely whenever I was stuck with a concept. With the live course comes access to all of the online course features as well. Personally, I thought the two instructors who taught the online course were a bit too quick and assumed too many things. Regardless of who your instructor is or what you think of the online course instructors, I do believe that if you follow BluePrints methods, you will see an increase in your score. However, taking the course with Jay definitely enabled me to reach the upper percentile score I was shooting for.

    Overall, I would recommend using Blueprint. While my instructor seemed a bit standoffish, he also seemed quite knowledgeable and willing to revisit areas of concern. The materials very great! I really appreciated how they made completing the courses and quizzes into sort of a game that affected your “ranking.” It made what was very tiresome at times a little more bearable.

    LSAT Blueprint was a great resource for me to use while studying for the LSAT. They took a dry topic and made it fun and interesting. I think the copious amount of practice questions was one of my favorite things and the practice tests that were just as helpful in creating a test like setting. I personally jumped 12 points between my first and second LSAT.

They also did a great job of learning to deal with logical reasoning questions, and I found their lessons on diagramming to be super straightforward and helpful. My teacher was also super patient and spent a lot of time before and after the class to help students out one on one. I recommend Blueprint to anyone taking the LSAT as a great way to get started on learning the test!

    Pretty good. The classes are pretty slow since students of all different levels can sign up for the course and take it. There might be certain areas that you struggle with more than others, so if you can spring for an individualized prep tutor that's what I would have done if I were to do it over again.

    The course was an entertaining online course, but the course did not help me improve my score. I diligently adhered to the planned study schedule. If I was to redo the entire process I would attend a onsite class instead of the online portion. I was working full time and I did not think I had the time for an in-person class. I wish I took the vacation time to improve my score to increase my opportunities.I would not recommend this course to someone else.

Essays and "soft" qualifications play such a small part in law school applications. 99% of your acceptance will be based off of having either your GPA or LSAT score above the median at your desired law school.

    I found the online blueprint course extremely helpful! I could take things at my own pace, and the offered a lot of ways to dive deeper into the material I was having trouble with. There are numerous practice tests, and the curriculum is effective at finding the areas where you need to improve and helping you to focus on those. The course helped me to improve my score by 10 points from my first practice test.

    This prep course completely covered logic games so much so that I had no worries about my success in that area when I took the LSAT. The instructor was effective and easy to understand, and made the class feel as relaxed and unlike a tense stressful experience. The logical reasoning section of the course was also very helpful, including the breaking up of questions into different categories. Personally, I just needed to practice reading comprehension on my own instead of rather than a course, but I appreciated a few good tips my instructor gave.

    I attended an on campus blueprint course and it was incredible. The instructor went through each page of the material that they provide you with and explained each step of every problem that we might encounter on the LSAT. I think the biggest help for me were the five PLSAT's that we completed in class.     The Blueprint online course I took referred to itself as "The Movie," and although not necessarily something I would want to rewatch multiple times over, the overall experience of the course was certainly entertaining. Backed by creative illustrations and two enthusiastic teachers, Blueprint helped me by providing beneficial visual aspects to my LSAT studies that I would not have been able to acquire from textbooks alone.It is clear that the course makers made it a pivotal point to offer instruction that was appealing and held the attention of the students. Unfortunately, at times the program seemed to take this a step too far as it often went out of its way in lacing its lessons with suggestive elements and what some might call "crude humor."But ultimately, my Blueprint experience was positive as it allowed me to study at my own pace, whenever, and wherever. With the course, I was able to take numerous real LSAT tests and questions, as well as customize a calendar that outlined study, homework, and test schedules leading up to the day of the actual LSAT.I would certainly recommend the Blueprint Online course as the best option for anyone who cannot schedule/does not have the funds for a live session.

    I thought the course overall was useful in terms of approaching the test with timing and types of questions. There were definitely a few things about the course that were off-putting. The sample questions they use to illustrate the different types of questions, I guess they're trying to be funny or cute or something? Often times they come across as weirdly sexist, for example having illustrations (granted they are one step up from stick figures) that they use over and over of a woman running in underwear and heals....why? or racist like using an illustration with buck teeth to represent an Asian person. There is also a bizarre sexual undertone like the pencil sharpener they send you says "Stick it In." These are just a few of the many examples I could give. It feels like they designed this course with a 21 year old frat guy in mind. So the course works, my score went up. It definitely would have been nice not to deal with all the other aspects though.

    Blueprint was a great resource for LSAT prep. I was in my final semester of undergrad taking 18 credits and was only able to study for a month and a half. Needless to say, not an ideal amount of time to study for the LSAT. Blueprint, however, was still able to improve my baseline score by 10 points on practice tests and by 7 points during test day. The material is engaging, light-hearted, and very helpful. If I had more time to study, the online material would have been plenty to study from. There are multiple modules covering all four main pieces of the LSAT, and the feedback given after each practice test is very helpful in making sure the same mistakes are not committed twice. I would HIGHLY recommend Blueprint for LSAT prep.

    I really enjoyed the class, partly mostly the teacher, Spencer, was great. If anyone had a question, he would take the time to delineate the reason why one answer was better than another. A key problem many have on the LSAT is being stuck between two good answers and not knowing which one is better. Spencer was able to speak in simple terms to explain each section of the test to make sure that students like me were able to always pick the best answer. He also taught us innovative test strategies, which helped us improve timing and do well on test day. Finally, I would like to add that he was attentive to emails and always easy to talk to if we had any questions. I would recommend taking Spencer in Westwood!

    Bluebook was a good way to get introduced to the format of the LSAT. The online lessons were most helpful for the logic games, which I think they explained very well.     Took the online course over the summer. I really enjoyed the ability to go at my own pace, and rewatch videos as I saw fit. The questions matched the LSAT pretty well. The two guys are funny and engaging. The program comes with a watch that counts backwards, so you can keep track of your time in each section. I thought that was a fun gimmick to keep me motivated, and on time.

    I thought that Blueprint did a good job of giving us timed practice exams and making sure that I was engaged for the hours that I was in class. However, I lost interest quickly doing the tons of homework assigned. A better bit of advice I learned from Nathan Fox's LSAT prep (I also did his weekend bootcamp) was to just do 1-2 sections a day (varying subjects each day) and work on timing. I felt overwhelmed by the amount of HW I got from Blueprint, and honestly didn't end up doing most of it. I think the Blueprint Analytics tool is pretty cool, but I also didn't like that I was doing single questions from different LSAT exams each time. When I took practice tests in full, I didn't like that I knew the answer to one or two questions on each section because I'd seen them on the Blueprint HW. I liked taking exams and sections FRESH so I could best figure out where I was. Yet, this may be a problem with all LSAT classes, so take it for what it's worth.
